Who doesn't know someone in hospital?
There’s a convenient way to get a cheery greeting to the hospitalized:  Hospital volunteers deliver it.  Folk receiving these notes have mentioned how important they are.  Check out:  [Link]

Food Bank Did you know that, during the first 9 months of 2025, Richmond’s contributions to Valley Family Services (the Food Bank) are only about half of what the total was in 2024? We can do much better. Let’s fill those boxes and show gratitude to God by sharing with neighbours the blessings we have been given.

On Tuesday of this week Maria Shepherdson’s appointment as canon of Fredericton’s Cathedral of Christ Church became effective. Yesterday her appointment as territorial/administrative archdeacon of Woodstock became effective. Both will be formalized at Evening Prayer at the Cathedral on Sunday 16 November, 4 pm. Appointment as canon is merely an honour; it is conferred in this instance because this diocese has a rule that one cannot be an archdeacon without first being a canon. Territorial archdeacon of the Woodstock region (Upper St John valley) is a weighty role.

Among those attending the recent Blessing of Animals service at Holy Trinity was Dr Clive Baldwin of St Thomas University, Fredericton.  Professor Baldwin writes:  I am conducting a research project on companion animals and adults aged 55+.  It involves the creation of short video stories.  We are looking for volunteers who might like to participate.  The project involves creating a digital story (5-8 minute in length) about your companion animal and answering a few short questions.  If interested in participating, you can reach Dr Baldwin at baldwin@stu.ca

There is good news.  Although the Upper St John valley area, which is now under the superintendence of Archdeacon Shepherdson, has only four active clerics, two of whom are eligible to retire, it also is home to half a dozen retired clerics who are willing to step forward from time to time.  This coming Sunday we welcome Walter Williams to lead a Communion service at Holy Trinity; Rick Robinson will do the same at St Luke’s.
