Parish Financial update: The close of August puts two-thirds of 2026 behind us.  Offerings to the parish Operating Fund – from which we pay the ordinary monthly bills – have averaged $40 a week below the budget target.  That’s actually better than last year this time.  But to avoid a $2100 budget shortfall on the year we will have to do a bit better.  We did just that in the last third of 2025, ending with a small surplus.  We can again.

There is good news.  This coming Saturday’s ordination of seven new deacons and priests at the Cathedral (3:00 PM) will equal the largest prior ordination service in Archbishop Edwards’ time as bishop.  May the Lord be with him and them.  If you have never witnessed an ordination in the Catholic tradition, this will be a very special opportunity.  Archbishop and ordinands are spending this week in retreat.
